Chris Pitts was elected to Treasurer and a member of AIMA Canada’s Executive Committee in October 2006. Chris is a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Toronto, in the Audit and Assurance practice. His practice is focused exclusively on the wealth management industry.
Chris has more than 12 years of experience in the investment industry, having worked with a broad range of investment management clients, including asset management companies, retail and institutional investment vehicles, offshore funds and a variety of alternative fund products. He provides investment performance audit services to investment managers and audit services to a number of brokers and mutual fund dealers. Additionally, he spent a year in PwC’s New York office working in their investment management practice.
Over the years, Chris has advised clients on a wide range of industry-related issues such as developing and enhancing operational investment management processes, structuring of complex fund products, fair valuation processes (including being an active participant on the Investment Funds Institute of Canada’s Fair Value Working Group), regulatory and compliance requirements on investment operations and acquisition due diligence.
A member of AIMA Canada’s Regulatory and Finance Committee, Chris was elected Treasurer and a member of the AIMA Canada Executive Committee in October 2006.
Chris, who holds a MSc. (Statistics) Degree for the University of Toronto, is a Chartered Accountant licensed in both Ontario and England and Wales.
