Andrew Doman was elected Secretary and a member of the Executive Committee of AIMA Canada in April 2005. Andrew is the Chief Operating Officer of Man Investments Canada Corp. where he is responsible for all of Man's operations in Canada.
Prior to joining Man Canada in August 2006, Andew spent 5 years as Chief Operating Officer of a Canadian based fund of funds during which time the firm grew dramatically from two to 22 staff with assets under management in excess of $300 million.
Andrew also spent two years with a major Canadian bank contributing to the integration of various business units and worked with a startup proprietary trading firm, where he was responsible for establishing trading operations in Toronto, Frankfurt and New York.
Throughout his career, Andrew has been a strong advocate of education and industry representation, participating both domestically and internationally in the AIMA organization. Prior to assuming his Executive role, he sat on AIMA Canada’s Research and Education Committee and on the Marketing and PR Committee of AIMA’s international organization, based in the U.K.
Andrew, who holds an MBA degree from the University of Toronto, has represented AIMA Canada through contributions to the international AIMA Journal and through his presentations on behalf of AIMA Canada at the Canadian Annual Derivatives Conference.
His contributions to AIMA Canada have also included participation in the development of both the AIMA Canada Web site and the Guide to Sound Practices for Canadian Hedge Fund Managers which he helped to author. His industry involvement has also included contributing to the writing and editing of the Canadian Security Institute’s (CSI) hedge fund course.
