Eamonn McConnell was elected Deputy Chair and a member of AIMA Canada’s Executive Committee in September 2008.
Eamonn has a background of close to 25 years of senior investment management and investment banking experience in North America, Europe, and Asia.
He is CEO and a Founding Partner of Manna Asset Management which is a recently formed fund of emerging Canadian hedge funds, based in Toronto. He also serves as a Founding Partner of EM Partners, a private equity firm with offices in Singapore, Shanghai and Seoul, a position he has held since the firm’s spin off from Deutsche Bank in 2000.
Prior to founding EM Partners, Eamonn spent four years with Deutsche Bank, where he held Managing Director positions in London and Hong Kong heading the firm’s European and Asian Debt Syndicates.
He began his career as an Associate with Wood Gundy Limited in London, England and subsequently, served in senior executive positions with Barclays McConnell Ltd., in Montreal, Thai Asia Mutual Fund Company in Bangkok, Thailand and Merrill Lynch International in both London and Hong Kong.
Eamonn is a Director of Independent Review Inc. where he sits on several Independent Review Committees and is active with on-going education seminars. A Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), he has achieved SFA and Canadian Securities Course Certification. He holds an MBA from McGill University in Montreal and a Diploma in the International Management Program from Ecole des Hautes Commerciales in France.
