AIMA has been operating for 15 years with over 1200 member companies worldwide.  AIMA Canada was established in March 2003 and is one of the largest chapters of AIMA worldwide with 79  member companies.

Benefits of Joining AIMA:

  • AIMA journal subscription and opportunity to submit articles and company news.
  • Access to AIMA commissioned key industry research papers.
The focus of the research paper published in April 2005 was on NAV pricing & asset valuation.  In Canada our latest publication was the Hedge Fund Primer, which is available in our resources section.
  • Access to the full series of AIMA illustrative due diligence questionnaires and sound practice guides including the newly released Guide to Sound Practices for Hedge Fund Administrators and the Canadian publication The Hedge Fund Primer
  • Access to the online member database containing full contact details of all AIMA members.
  • Access to the online regulation & taxation resource.
  • Access to all educational materials on www.aima.org.
  • Preferential discounts to commercial third-party conferences and publications. Discounts to conferences are flagged in the ‘forthcoming events’ section of the AIMA websites.
  • As an AIMA member, firms are entitled to special discounts for each candidate with the CAIA designation (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) and for membership fees of the CAIA Association.  They can be reached at www.caia.org.

AIMA and the various chapters are extremely active in representing the industry with regulators, the government and the press to ensure that member views are expressed and that education on all fronts is enhanced.

AIMA Canada consists of five committees, comprised of members who devote their time to ensuring we stay abreast of issues.  The committees are

  • Executive
  • Events
  • Legal & Finance
  • Education & Research
